Celebrating Womanhood
On the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day’, a workshop on self-defense for the girls was conducted by National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD).
The MYP and DP girl students participated in the workshop and interacted with the Assistant Regional Director, Dr. Rajesh Mishra, and former DSP, Mr. Amrit Phale, of Crime Against Women cell, Indore.
In this training session, the trainers taught the girls many self-defense techniques to develop confidence in them. They encouraged the girls to speak about crimes targetted at girls and women. At the same time, they were given tips about what to do if they are trapped in an undesirable situation. They were also made aware about different laws and helplines to call to prevent them. It was an extremely interactive session.
Further, the girls can show empathy and respect towards the community and brings positive changes in others’ lives by transferring their knowledge of self-defense.
