MYP 4A Assembly on 20 July 2017
The students of
MYP 4A had the assembly on the theme of 'Nelson Mandela Day', a great
passionate man who brought freedom to the African people. He was the Leader who
did not stop his approach for the freedom of his countrymen although he had gone
to the jail for 27 years. The students got a wonderful opportunity to present
his good deeds as a theme of their assembly.
The assembly began
with a mesmerizing thought by Nelson Mandela: "Everyone can rise above
their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate
about what they do."
Nelson Mandela was
a man with conviction who had a passionate vision to see his country’s
people happy and enjoying equal rights, which the students tried to depict in
various ways, including a PowerPoint presentation and a video, followed by a
motivational song "We shall overcome". Lastly, the students presented
a dance performance conveying the message of no-discrimination.
Nelson Mandela
shows various IB learner profiles which we, as IB students must respect in our
lives. He was, is and always will be an inspiration for everyone and for us as
IB students.
