MYP3 Parents’ Orientation on lifeskills on 25 July 2017

A session for parents of MYP3 was conducted on educating the young teenagers through building an appropriate value-system.

The parents and teachers discussed the different issues faced by the teenagers and how to deal with the negative impact of the digital world. Among the varied topics discussed were communication style, stress, bullying, depression, cyber addiction, peer pressure, competition and self-image affect the teens. Valuable inputs from the parents made the session extremely interactive.

Emphasis was laid on how one can lead a healthy life in front of the children which will be learnt eventually by them for their future. Quality time must be spent by the parents with their wards along with open communication channels without creating any gaps between the children and their parents.

A survey result on stress management and how the children can cope with the stress was also presented. The different modules covered in the Life Skills lessons were explained. A short story on self-reflection was introduced to the parents.
