Shishukunj MUN – A Memorable Experience for CI Delegates

A convention where budding speakers, curious minds, and potential diplomats came together for three days to deliberate on conflicts and issues that hold global significance – Shishukunj MUN 2017. 



The MUN was held at The Grand Bhagwati Hotel in Indore 20-22 July 2017, and saw delegates from different schools from all over India participate. Our school was one of the well-known delegations, and included students from both MYP and DP. 



This MUN owed its uniqueness to a new procedure in our MUN circuit, the UN4MUN procedure, which aims to familiarize delegates with the workings and proceedings of the actual United Nations. The procedure, although met with apprehension in the beginning, turned out to be an amazing learning experience and was appreciated by all. 



Over the course of the three days, delegates made speeches, collaborated with fellow delegates to come up with solutions to the issues at hand, and at the end, unanimously passed fruitful ones. 




Our school performed well at the conference and received some laurels as well, making it an amazing experience overall. Our students Saatwik Maheshwari (DP), Sujay Jain and Vikramjeet Singh Sokhey (MYP) bagged 3 Diplomacy Awards in UNSC and DISEC committees.

  Building effective parent-teacher partnership  An orientation session was conducted for the parents and students on Saturday, 7th August 2021. The purpose of this orientation was to enlighten the parents and keep them informed about the intricate details of the MYP Assessment procedure and the IB way of the teaching-learning process. The session included orientation on 'Celebration of learning' in the form of IDL (Interdisciplinary learning). IDL Session in MYP 1

   ‘Dead Men Do Tell Tales’.- William R. Maples Interdisciplinary education allows students to see different perspectives and work in groups with the synthesis of disciplines the ultimate goal. Choithram International took an initiative to celebrate IDL week by indulging in Interdisciplinary Teaching Learning activities. CI teachers decided to take teaching a step further by connecting their ongoing topics with other disciplines. This would help students to understand why they are learning a particular topic and how they can apply their knowledge gained in real life.  Ongoing topic ‘Skeletal System’ in MYP 1 Biology was connected with Forensics wherein students got to know that the skeleton speaks a lot about the gender and age of the deceased and also the reason of the death of a person. Achievements of MYP Learners in Silver Zone Olympiads 2016-17

Achievements of students of Choithram International in Silver Zone Olympiads are worth our appreciation. The Silver Zone International Talent Hunt Olympiad was conducted on 12th January 2017. Achievers of this exam include the following students: Akshat Shahjade MYP 1 scored 95.17 % and secured school rank 1st. He was awarded with gold medal. Sarthak Rathi of MYP1 has secured school rank 2nd and received the Silver medal Venkat Suprabath Bitra from MYP 5 has scored 72.7 % and secured 1st rank. He was awarded with Gold medal. Silver Zone International French Olympiad was conducted on 15 Dec. 2016. Achievers of this exam are the following students: Akshat Shahjade of MYP 1 (class VI) scored 97.73 % and secured school rank 1st. He was awarded the Gold medal.
