Skype interaction to build intercultural understanding between learners and countries
A Skype interaction with the learners of
École Le Petit Prince, France was organized on 5 July 2017 for our MYP 1
learners. It was an amazing learning experience for the students. They
discussed various topics from the school's structure to the number of lessons
in a day and the sports offered in their school.
The most important part of the session
was the exchange of the cultural understanding wherein the learners posed an
inquiry on how the festivals are celebrated in France and what unique things
are done for the National Day / Bastille Day that reflected their IB learner profile
‘open minded’.
Interactions like these help to promote
international-mindedness among the learners.
The world has become a smaller place with the help of technology. Skype has made communication quicker and simpler for the facilitators and learners by giving them a chance to get associated with each other and share their teaching and learning experiences.
