Lecture on IB Learner Profile on 29 July 2017

As per the guidelines of IB, MYP and DP teachers work collaboratively to understand how they can develop IB learner profiles in their students through their subjects. The collaboration is facilitated by Dr Mamta Jain. In keeping with this, a lecture on the learner profile was organised on 29 July 2017.

The lecture began with a small video about the learner profile being the IB mission statement in action, followed by sharing and reading of a research paper about how well various schools in the world are able to cater to the learner profile development in their students.

Using samples available from OCC, a Google sheet was created and shared with the teachers in which they had to align the subject aims with suitable learner profiles, as well as include examples. All the teachers present during the lecture shared some good examples of their class activities on the Google sheet.

The exercise also helped the new teachers get ideas for implementing the learner profile in their classes. Many thanks to Dr Mamta Jain.
