Photography Competition for MYP Learners on Maheshwar Trip

During the trip to Maheshwar on Children’s Day, 14 November 2017, we had organised a photography competition for our MYP students.










From the many entries we received, here are the winners:
1st place: Pavitar Singh Arneja
2nd place: Kanishk Singh
3rd place: (joint winners) Bhavesh Rochlani and Kartik Kangia.

Special mentions: Arushi Pathak, Pavitar Singh Arneja, Sarthak Badole, Sarthak Jain and Yog Sharma.

The students of Choithram International from MYP 1-5 went on a much-awaited trip on the occasion of Children’s Day. They went to visit the scenic beauty of Maheshwar, known for its historical monuments, scenic beauty, and attractions.  The city of Maheshwar is located in Khargon district, Madhya Pradesh. It lies on the northern bank of the Narmada River. Maheshwar, known as Mahishmati in the earlier days, was the capital of Malwa during Maratha Holkar’s reign (till 1818). ‘Maheshwar’ literally means Great God in Hindi, which refers to Lord Shiva. The students learnt a lot many things about the historical place and its religious significance. The beauty of the gorgeous temples and ancient buildings were well noticed and appreciated by the students and the teachers. MYP 5 World Tourism Day Assembly on 28 September 2017

MYP year 5 presented a spectacular assembly that was infused with energy. The Christopher Columbus Award was conferred on MYP Year 2 for securing the maximum number of points in a mind-boggling quiz on geography. The quiz was followed by a breath-taking dance that took the gathering on a journey across India. Subsequently, a mellifluous mesmerizing song pervaded the school building. The learners reflected on the development of ATL skills such as self-management and social skills whilst sharing how they portrayed the IB learner profiles Open-mindedness and Risktaker. MYP Exhibition 2017-18

National Science Day is commemorated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928. In lieu of it, he had been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. Today at CI, there was an exhibition in commemoration of the day. All science subjects explored different topics and made the event a great one. Along with the science exhibits, the other subjects had also put up their curriculum initiated activities and strategies of learning.
