MYP 1A Assembly on 14 December 2017

To begin a new day, the students of MYP 1A sang enthusiastically in the praise of the Almighty Lord. The theme of the assembly was ‘energy conservation’. They presented some models on utilization of alternative resources and requested the audience to save energy which was re-enforced through a video presentation.
 

The students displayed Critical thinking and Self management skills and developed the IB learner profile of a Thinker by making models to save energy. Since it was the last assembly of the year 2017, the students presented their resolution and also identified their learner profiles through an i-movie.


The assembly came to a musical end with an energetic dance performance on ‘Jingle bells’ and subsequently a musical presentation to celebrate and usher in the festive Christmas season. The highlight of the assembly was the entry of ‘Santa Claus’ which was a pleasant surprise for the students.

  Building effective parent-teacher partnership  An orientation session was conducted for the parents and students on Saturday, 7th August 2021. The purpose of this orientation was to enlighten the parents and keep them informed about the intricate details of the MYP Assessment procedure and the IB way of the teaching-learning process. The session included orientation on 'Celebration of learning' in the form of IDL (Interdisciplinary learning). Whereby the parents were apprised about the scope for transfer of learning from the boundaries of one subject to the other subjects and to real life as well.  Parents were also updated about the SEL program which can help students better understand and identify their emotions; develop empathy, increase self-control and manage stress. IDL Session in MYP 1

   ‘Dead Men Do Tell Tales’.- William R. Maples Interdisciplinary education allows students to see different perspectives and work in groups with the synthesis of disciplines the ultimate goal. Choithram International took an initiative to celebrate IDL week by indulging in Interdisciplinary Teaching Learning activities. CI teachers decided to take teaching a step further by connecting their ongoing topics with other disciplines. This would help students to understand why they are learning a particular topic and how they can apply their knowledge gained in real life.  Ongoing topic ‘Skeletal System’ in MYP 1 Biology was connected with Forensics wherein students got to know that the skeleton speaks a lot about the gender and age of the deceased and also the reason of the death of a person. Achievements of MYP Learners in Silver Zone Olympiads 2016-17

Achievements of students of Choithram International in Silver Zone Olympiads are worth our appreciation. The Silver Zone International Talent Hunt Olympiad was conducted on 12th January 2017. Achievers of this exam include the following students: Akshat Shahjade MYP 1 scored 95.17 % and secured school rank 1st. He was awarded with gold medal. Sarthak Rathi of MYP1 has secured school rank 2nd and received the Silver medal Venkat Suprabath Bitra from MYP 5 has scored 72.7 % and secured 1st rank. He was awarded with Gold medal. Silver Zone International French Olympiad was conducted on 15 Dec. 2016. Achievers of this exam are the following students: Akshat Shahjade of MYP 1 (class VI) scored 97.73 % and secured school rank 1st. He was awarded the Gold medal.
