Save the buried sunshine, use natural sunshine.

Reduce stress on ‘fossil fuels through the buried sunshine.’
Students of MYP 3 as a part of the ongoing unit ‘Energy’ had a field visit on 23/3/18 to Jaivik Setu. The site is famous for its organic farming and itsproducts as well as use of solar energy extensively.
The students saw a demonstration of utilization of solar energy to produce electricity. They were also shown the use of solar charger, solar panels, solar dryer and solar cooker as well as explained the principle behind the working of
solar cooker, solar dryer and also the procedure for generating electricity byusing solar energy. Their understanding about the importance of reducing exploitation of non-renewable sources of energy for a sustainable society was re-enforced. This made them connect with the Global Context Scientific and technical innovation and the exploration of the impact of scientific and technological advances on communities and environments. They also got an opportunity to see the products of organic farming like grains, fruits and vegetables. They demonstrated critical thinking skills and communication skills apart from exhibiting ‘Reflective’ learner profile.
