Session on Academic Honesty for PP students by Ms. Geetha

The induction of MYP 4 students through the process of Personal Projects began last month. As they will be soon proceeding with investigating through research for selection of their goals and building criteria or specifications of their own products to achieve their goals, the resource coordinator took a session on Academic Honesty on 18 April 2018. For their benefit, she explained the following: 1. Academic Honesty - Policy update 2. Students' responsibility - with examples 3. How to write a bibliography 4. Intext citation 5. Types of plagiarism - with examples 6. Evaluation of websites with examples It is imperative for the students to understand the importance of authentic research as it will ultimately help them in the creation of their products and lead them throughout the process.

Free from Exam Stress

Today MYP4-A Assembly focused on how to take exams without stress that certainly showed their empathy towards their peers as well as encouraged them to manage the time before the exams well, with regard to their studies, in a balanced manner. Invocation of the Almighty and the news started the assembly. A Mr. Beans video on exams followed, showcasing an unprepared student attempting an exam, his fidgety behaviour within the exam hall as well as his react ion at the end of the exam which brought a stressed student's case before the audience. The counsellor, Ms. Swati Bhambore , addressed the students regarding exam stress and fear; and, at the same time, she gave tips for the same. The students in the audience listened spellbound and appreciated this.

The World of Shakespeare

The Metamorphosis DP1 for the ShakeMeUp Film Festival delved into the evergreen play by Shakespeare ‘Taming the Shrew’, to create the short film ‘Metamorphosis’. The essence of this satirical comedy connects intrinsically with that of the Indian Society’s culture that has been reflected through the depiction of a fiction based on Indian Arranged Marriages. Watch the satire and do comment.                                           The Takeover Bid MYP4 showcased ‘The Takeover Bid’ : an   animated fictional film with a changed ending   in the ShakeMeUp Film Festival. Though it was adapted from ‘The Tragedy of King Lear’, it has been set in today’s time wherein one can observe Cordelia - the deprived daughter of a business magnate - executing a takeover bid of her dad’s company, instead of her death as in the original play. Today, MYP 1B conducted the assembly on - April Fools’ Day and World Health Day. The assembly included an informative presentation, a euphonious song related to April Fools’ Day as well as a skit in which they showcased their Service as Action ‘Hand Wash’ through a video clip and highlighted the caring learner profile. The assembly included a delightful dance, a fantabulous rap, a talk followed by a video related to top 10 facts on World Health Day. The students also requested their friends to lead a happy and a healthy life. The learners were appreciated for their communication and self-management skills in conducting the assembly. The assembly concluded by felicitation of the students who had participated in the "Prestige Film Festival" and brought laurels to the school.
