The students of Choithram International from MYP 1-5 went on a much-awaited trip on the occasion of Children’s Day. They went to visit the scenic beauty of Maheshwar, known for its historical monuments, scenic beauty, and attractions. The city of Maheshwar is located in Khargon district, Madhya Pradesh. It lies on the northern bank of the Narmada River. Maheshwar, known as Mahishmati in the earlier days, was the capital of Malwa during Maratha Holkar’s reign (till 1818). ‘Maheshwar’ literally means Great God in Hindi, which refers to Lord Shiva. The students learnt a lot many things about the historical place and its religious significance. The beauty of the gorgeous temples and ancient buildings were well noticed and appreciated by the students and the teachers.
