Remembering Hiroshima Nagasaki day - MYP 4

 Assembly is the platform to showcase learning and express the talents which students possess and the one conducted on 9th August'18 by the students of MYP 4A was an amalgamation of the themes - Friendship and Hiroshima Nagasaki Day.Two extremes of thoughts but two significantly unifying bonds for the people all across the world. The young learners made various presentations ranging from inspirational thought, video based on Hiroshima Nagasaki to melodious orchestra. These flared a range of emotions amongst the audience. The quiz grounded in IB Learner Profile attributes and ATL Skills led to reinforcement of these concepts with a blend of fun and excitement. The spirit of the day was hailed by awarding the winners of previously held Creative Writing Competition. The laurels which three of our students brought by winning  the Wildlife Quiz Competition at NDPS school was acknowledged with a huge applause. The learners realised the essence of friendship and generated empathy for the sufferers of nuclear explosion during World War II. The culmination of assembly left everyone filled with a sense of affinity and the determination to make world a more peaceful place.

The students of Choithram International from MYP 1-5 went on a much-awaited trip on the occasion of Children’s Day. They went to visit the scenic beauty of Maheshwar, known for its historical monuments, scenic beauty, and attractions.  The city of Maheshwar is located in Khargon district, Madhya Pradesh. It lies on the northern bank of the Narmada River. Maheshwar, known as Mahishmati in the earlier days, was the capital of Malwa during Maratha Holkar’s reign (till 1818). ‘Maheshwar’ literally means Great God in Hindi, which refers to Lord Shiva. The students learnt a lot many things about the historical place and its religious significance. The beauty of the gorgeous temples and ancient buildings were well noticed and appreciated by the students and the teachers. Fenugreek (methi) cultivation in school herbal garden

“As you sow, so shall you reap.” This famous proverb held true as our students of MYP 3 began their mission to convert a part of the barren land within our school campus into a herbal garden. The students prepared the land and sowed fenugreek (methi) seeds on 1 July 2017. They prepared the seed bed using school compost which is being produced from the school kitchen waste. Their hard work paid off when the entire cultivated land filled with fenugreek plants which they picked, cleaned and handed over to the school kitchen. The next day, the students, teacher and other staff members savoured hot ‘methi paranthas’ prepared from the fenugreek (methi) collected from the herbal garden. Assembly by MYP 3A

“ Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments” - Jim Rohn Today,   # MYP   3 A presented an impeccable assembly on discipline and self management. The assembly commenced with a prayer. A thought was shared with the audience to inspire everyone to have a great day, followed by updating the audience with the latest news. Thereafter, two motivational videos (one on discipline and the other on a short animated story about a boy who learnt to maintain discipline) were s hown. After this, the students presented a choir through which they conveyed a message about success. An energetic orchestra performance livened up the gathering. With a student speaking about her perspective of discipline, the assembly was culminated. Thus, the students displayed their communication and organisation skills along with Principled and Communicator learner profiles.
