Amidst Nature: Save Butterfly

Image
Students of MYP 1 visited the 'Nature's nursery' on September 20, 2018 to gather more information about flowering plants that attract butterflies.  This visit helped the students to work on a curriculum driven service to create a butterfly garden in the school campus to attract more number of butterflies as they are getting endangered. Students thereby would try to provide a fair chance for these Arthropods to develop. The activity was based on t he global context - Fairness and development and related to the unit "Life on Earth”. Students bought seeds of flowering plants from the nursery to create their own butterfly garden. The visit and the planning helped the students to develop a ‘caring’ as the learner profile and also reinforced self - management skills.
