Hello Adventure!
“Adventure is worthwhile.” –
Aesop
"An excursion is not just a
pleasure trip; rather it is an extension of the classrooms. It is a part &
parcel of students life”. To break the monotony of life & fill the mind
with joy, a fun-filled overnight excursion was organized by Choithram
International for students of MYP 1 - MYP 4 to ‘Flame of the Forest’. After a 3
hour journey, the students finally reached the resort which was amidst
picturesque forests and farmlands. Some say that the journey is more important
than the destination; however, the fun students had throughout the journey was
easily leveled by their experience at the resort itself.
The resort offered a wide range
of leisure and adventure activities which, for most of the people, was a new
and unique experience. Gliding swiftly down on the zip-line, rappelling down
walls, rock climbing with much effort or just taking a swim in the relaxing
pool; there was much over there to offer. If one would still be bored, a game
room and a torchlight night-time nature walk would definitely leave one
interested. It was an outing that made the students confident, courageous and
to a great extent assisted them to conquer their fears.
The students got an opulent
opportunity to be in nature’s lap, in the serene arms of tranquility, far away
from the hustle - bustle and baffling city lights. This adventurous trip was a
combination of fun-filled games and life skills activities which made learning
experience richer, joyful and rewarding leaving kids wanting for more.
Prohibiting the gadgets on this trip also reassured that this generation is
still capable of living without electronic devices and the students savored the
true nectar of adventure.
Students were so enthralled and
enamored by this trip that they were reluctant to leave the resort. But as the
saying goes that “All good things come to an end”, so did this jaunt with the
learning of new skills and experiences.
All the students expressed a
desire to revisit the place again. Indeed it was a great trip for all the
students and teachers, as it strengthened the bond between the students and
their teachers. As it is rightly said, “Collect moments, not things” these experiences
will certainly be nurtured for a lifetime.
It was a sound and safe return
trip.
