An Act of Reverence

Basant Panchami, also known as Vasant Panchami is celebrated in reverence to the Hindu deity Goddess ‘Saraswati’, who is the epitome of learning, music and art. Our juveniles of MYP 1A presented an assembly on 30th January, 2020 as a coalescence of the momentousness of Vasant Panchami and the 72nd commemoration of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji. The vivacious youth of MYP 1A tried to bring forth their creative skills through their innovative performances and stunned everyone with the vibrancy they indulged in their presentations. It was surprisingly wonderful to see such young minds bringing noteworthy revisions before the audience, thus respecting religious beliefs and the nation. Learning cannot be imposed, it is to be acquired and assimilated involving interest and enjoyment. The week culminated with the CI students enthusiastically celebrating ‘Makar Sankranti’ by flying kites transforming the clear sky into a canvas studded with beautiful colourful kites. The cool breeze and the colourful kites made the day perfect. It was thrilling to see parents and teachers exhibiting childlike enthusiasm in the ground along with the students.

Integrated Learning

"Aano bhadra kartavo yantu vishwatah" which when translated means 'Let noble thoughts come to me from all directions' is an age old sanskrit shlok and today the students of MYP 3 demonstarted this kind of integrated learning on their inter disciplinary unit between 'Sciene and Physical Health Education'. In this unit, students were required to bind together and understand the relationship between the endocrine system and yogasanas and its impact. Our agil e and able students gave extremely impressive demonstrations of complex yoga postures along with explanations to a spellbound audience. The event was also graced by yoga enthusiasts Mr. Manoj Dubey and Dr. P. Kanthed, who gave lots of insightful suggestions and explanations about the benefits of different yoga postures and practice.
