An Act of Reverence

Basant Panchami, also known as Vasant Panchami is celebrated in reverence to the Hindu deity Goddess ‘Saraswati’, who is the epitome of learning, music and art. Our juveniles of MYP 1A presented an assembly on 30th January, 2020 as a coalescence of the momentousness of Vasant Panchami and the 72nd commemoration of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji.
The vivacious youth of MYP 1A tried to bring forth their creative skills through their innovative performances and stunned everyone with the vibrancy they indulged in their presentations. It was surprisingly wonderful to see such young minds bringing noteworthy revisions before the audience, thus respecting religious beliefs and the nation.
Learning cannot be imposed, it is to be acquired and assimilated involving interest and enjoyment. Real knowledge is not only imbibing but also its practical application and the assembly was conducted with a motive to ignite inquisitiveness and innovation in the learners.
The Global Context the novices targeted for their assemblage was ‘Personal and Cultural Expression’ as our little learners expressed our culture and belief in the act on ‘Goddess Saraswati’ and they demonstrated the feelings and ideas of Mahatma Gandhi through the ingenious short film created by them.
Through this assembly students developed social skills, communication skills and self-management skills as they collaborated and communicated with each other and organised the presentations to put up the best show. Learners also became knowledgeable and enhanced their creative thinking abilities as they understood the topic very well and with new ideas they created their presentation.
