Athletic Extravaganza

The 15th Annual Athletic Meet was held on 6th and 7th February 2020 at Choithram International . The sprawling ground of the school was replete with enthusiasm and exuberance of the students and staff for the event. The presence of Mr. Dilip Vasu, the Head of the school, on both the days, acted as a morale booster for the zealots. The athletic meet was also marked specially for the presence of the zealous parents constantly applauding and cheering the students. The MYP and DP participated in the senior athletic meet on the second day. Each event of the athletic meet was a testimony to a high level of caliber and endurance of the young enthusiasts. The felicitation ceremony witnessed the distinct championship trophies lifted by the winners.Subh Patidar and Nitya Sarda bagged junior category individual championship whereas Sarthak Rathi and Maria Kesurwala were the senior champions. The open category boys and girls champions were Abhishek Verma and Hiteshi Singh.
The sincere dedication and effort led Tagore House to be the winners of trophy for March Past. However, the enthusiasm and team spirit knew no bounds when Tagore House was declared as the winner of the athletic Meet. Mandela House topped the tally of House points for the academic session, combining Inter House cultural, literary and sporting events held over the year.
The event was a great learning of coordination, cooperation and camaraderie.
It culminated with the hope of keeping up the zeal and enthusiasm alive in the times to come.

It was a very good activity where sharing of information took place to the maximum and ended up in a debate. The complete classroom scenario was like a seminar and the learners enjoyed this. Interdisciplinary Learning and International Mindedness through Case Studies in Chemistry

by Jalpa Shreyas Shah A case study is a good example of problem-based learning which involves in-depth study of the problem through research and data collection. In a case study, students not only learn to identify the problem but also propose solutions and explain the social, economic, geographical implications of the study being undertaken. This can be a very good teaching pedagogy for development of criterion D in sciences which reflects on the impact of sciences with regard to a proposed problem. Our students of Grade 9 Chemistry were provided with a case study on the problem ‘Life and condition of people involved in emerald mining in India and Brazil’. The case study was based on their unit in Chemistry titled Extraction of Metals. The students were given the abstract on Gemstone industries in both countries and details of emerald mining. MYP Student Reflections on International Dot Day

1. Eishita Dhanwani (MYP 4) Our school decided to celebrate the international dot day by organising a competition. I personally think that is a wonderful way to celebrate an important event that even I was unaware about until the competition was announced. At first, when it was announced, most of us started panicking. We all scattered around the class in order to find the required supplies. Charts, sketch pens, crayons and a ton of other items were assembled on the tables. We all decided to make groups in order to share creative ideas and come up with something really creative and time saving. Our class was in chaos. Some were seriously doing their work. Our class did come up with splendid products. It was really creative and each of them were personalised which made them very special.
