Seed Balls Making Workshop

"We have not inherited this earth from our parents to do with it what we will. We        have borrowed it from our children and we must be careful to use it in their           interests as well as our own― Moss Cass"

Every individual has a role to play in preserving the Earth’s environment. A positive change, no matter how small, holds the ability to create a lasting ripple of change in the long run. Keeping this view in mind a Seed Balls Making Workshop was organized for the MYP students by Choithram International School.

Seeds are the last stage of a plant's life cycle and also a potential beginning stage for a new life, to maintain the continuity of life. A virtual session was conducted for the students with the help of the Indore Zoo Curator Team to make students aware of a sustainable approach to cultivating plants through Seed Balls which are also referred to as Seed Bombs.  Seed balls can be very easily and conveniently dispensed by any environment lover, irrespective of any age group.

Students enthusiastically participated in the activity of preparing Seed Balls. They liked the idea of dispersing the seeds during the rainy season while traveling, simply by throwing them like balls in some non-green patch on their way. The session was fruitful and also enhanced student's knowledge about Biodiversity Conservation.

Students communicated like Young Environmentalists and interacted with the Guests. This can be the first step towards shaping the environmental value system of our little thinkers.
