At the outset of new academic session 21-22, Choithram International School is on a mission to create responsible global citizens by introducing Social-Emotional learning as an essential part of the day-to-day teaching and learning process. We feel proud to be the torchbearers for bringing a revolutionary change in the field of education which isn't just focusing on the acquisition of knowledge but is also reiterating and reinforcing the importance of holistic development of our future generation who is more self-aware, self-managed, has social awareness, reflect strong relationship skills and are prudent to make informed choices as responsible decision-makers.
Daniel Goleman has rightly said -"social-emotional learning skills embedded into the curriculum + cooperative learning structures + reflection = optimum lifelong learning."
SEL is a process for helping children and adults develop the fundamental skills for life effectiveness. SEL teaches the skills we all need to handle ourselves, our relationships, and our work, effectively and ethically.
Today was again a day to cherish, when the facilitators under the guidance and vision of HOS, took sessions with students from MYP 1 to DP 2 in 3 different batches and helped them understand the relevance of this program and also to critically think before they respond. This was an eye-opening session that students were able to connect with and relate to as a need of the hour, especially during pandemic scenarios.
