 Promoting Intercultural Learning!

“Once you understand and appreciate other people’s cultural backgrounds, then you can also connect with them more effectively.

To promote intercultural learning in the Classroom a Guest Talk was arranged on Bengali Culture for MYP 1 Students. It was an initiative to engage the young learners in an interactive learning experience.

The session gave the students a deeper insight into Bengali literature and culture. Students could connect it with their Language and Literature curriculum where they are also exploring the translated work of Rabindranath Tagore. The students were encouraged to accept the differences in viewpoints of other cultures instead of being judgmental about them. Interesting presentations kept the students glued to the session and interacting freely.

It was a wonderful learning experience for the students to hear the guest speaker talk about a different culture, celebrations, food, etc, and experiencing it virtually.
