 Under the Game Design unit , MYP 3 students used various applications like code.org , Roblox and Minecraft to create games. They developed challenging games for their targeted audiences. Students were quite inquisitive and excited in developing the games. The unit was a success as it developed critical thinking skills of the students.

by Rajee Venugopal Unit 1 reflection MYP 3 Global Context - Identities and relationship (Exploring - Physical, spiritual and mental health) The students were introduced to the first topic in this unit ’Food Production’ where they organised themselves into different continents and presented their progress in the field of agriculture. It was a very good activity where sharing of information took place to the maximum and ended up in a debate. The complete classroom scenario was like a seminar and the learners enjoyed this. The skills developed through this activity were research skills and communication skills. An agricultural farm visit was planned to learn about new techniques of farming. The students’ knowledge about agricultural practices was further extended to a service through farming in a small scale in the school premises. The Power of Peer Assessment

by Harsha Pherwani Peer assessment is a learning tool wherein the students assess their peers’ work and have their work assessed by peers. It gives an opportunity to the learners to comprehend the assessment criteria in a better manner along with increased motivation and engagement in the class. The students give feedback on the quality of their peers’ work, often with ideas and strategies for improvement.  While assessing their peers the students enhance their own learning and self-confidence.  They get a deeper understanding and gain an insight into their own approach to an assessment task in comparison to their peers. This collaborative learning technique helps the students to develop their listening, communication and thinking skills. A guest lecture on Family Culture and Identity was organised in our school for our MYP Global Perspective course specifically for our MYP 4 and MYP 5 learners on 28 September 2017. Mr Ajay Agrawal, father of fellow student Anushka Agrawal, was the keynote speaker. He shared his valuable experience on culture and values of China and also compared it to Indian culture. It enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the learners and developed insights on Chinese culture, values and belief systems. More photos on Facebook .
