Inter House Quiz Contest – An Edutainment

Quiz is an interactive platform to expand students’ knowledge which helps exploring their new skills. In order to provide the same opportunity, an Inter-House Quiz Contest for MYP i.e. Class 6 – 10, was organized in Choithram International on 16 th   August, 2018. There were 5 members in each team. There were 6 rounds in the quiz that included General Knowledge, Science, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs, Visual round, Language Proficiency and Rapid Fire round.     The participation of the students was really appreciable. To prepare for the quiz contest, the students put an extra effort apart from their curriculum to participate in it. The participants as well as the audience were benefited by the quiz. Fairness and Development: Interaction between communities.

August 12th being ‘World Elephant Day’, nothing could have been better than a visit to Kamla Nehru Zoo. MYP 1 visited the zoo to observe different adaptations in various animals that enable them to survive in a particular habitat. They were briefed about how 'Human Interference' is damaging their habitat and thereby hampering 'a fair chance to develop'. Students interacted with the zoo official who appraised students about the importance of existence of zoo in biodiversity cycle. Conservation is essential to protect endangered animals, which is being taken care by ‘Zoo’. Students developed 'Caring' learner Profile and demonstrated 'Self-management' skills. It was a fun-filled learning experience wherein students gathered information from the natural surrounding.

Remembering Hiroshima Nagasaki day - MYP 4

  Assembly is the platform to showcase learning and express the talents which students possess and the one conducted on 9th August'18 by the students of MYP 4A was an amalgamation of the themes - Friendship and Hiroshima Nagasaki Day.Two extremes of thoughts but two significantly unifying bonds for the people all across the world. The young learners made various presentations ranging from inspirational thought, video based on Hiroshima Nagasaki to  melodious orchestra. These flared a range of emotions amongst the audience. The quiz grounded in IB Learner Profile attributes and ATL Skills led to reinforcement of these concepts with a blend of fun and excitement. The spirit of the day was hailed by awarding the winners of previously held Creative Writing Competition. Parent induction on MYP assessments

Assessments play an important role in a students learning process and help the teachers to support the child's learning. It also help parents to understand at what stage of the learning is the child in and what should be the way to guide them further. A session on the types and modes of assessment in MYP was organised for the MYP parents on Saturday ie 4th of August. The session was lead by the MYPC and the subject teachers. The session helped the parents to understand the assessment criteria and expectations in each subject.

A visit to Anubhuti Seva Sansthan - Lending a helping hand

A visit to Anubhuti seva sansthan was planned for the students of MYP 1 A and B as a part of service as action on August 04, 2018.The students planned some activities as a part of school based service and action program to spend time with the special kids. CI students were welcomed by special children of the Sansthan. They were enthusiastic and wanted to exhibit their talent to entertain by playing Antakshadi (Songs)   by CI students. They also performed dance to make the kids happy at the place. Also a drawing competition was organised for them. The students collected hand made rakhis from these children and would be sold in the CI exhibition. The collected money will be handed over to the organisation. The students also donated old clothes as a part of service. A great exposure to Sports

A great exposure to Sports CI Students went to The Sanskaar Valley School, Bhopal to participate in basketball, football and cricket matches . It was a great exposure to the students as they learnt about the culture of other schools. The aim to fix these matches with the other schools was to make students understand the importance of International Mindedness where the students globally connected and understood the different cultures followed. The students tried their best to adjust with the ambience. They interacted with the other school participants and got to know about their game style. Overall, this trip encouraged the students to participate in the upcoming competitions with great fervor.
