Speak up, stop discrimination

Image
The best way to embark on a new day is to invoke God through our honest prayers and so did the students of MYP 5 B begin with the assembly by seeking blessings from the Almighty. They presented the assembly on December 06, 2018, Thursday, focusing on the significance of the Human Rights day which is celebrated on December 10 every year and the role of human rights in an individual’s life. It was a collective effort of all the students to make others aware of their rights. The assembly had a wonderful power point presentation on the same, coupled with an enlightening speech. Human rights are inherent to all human beings, irrespective of one’s nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status. All are equally entitled to human rights without discrimination. The assembly culminated with the same thought of equality and oneness.

Under the ‘Service as Action’ program, initiated by Choithram International in association with ‘Behtar India ’, the students of MYP-3 and MYP-4 visited ‘Maa Vihar colony’ to collect waste papers for recycling process. They pioneered the drive to encourage the process of recycling to sustain a green and clean environment. The residents were very co-operative and also contributed to proceed with the noble cause. The collected papers would be now sent to various recycling centers and the products that would be prepared by the papers would be donated to different government schools and the under privileged children. It’s the need of the hour to realize the significance of clean environment for the sustainability of life on earth and therefore everyone should follow the rule of three R’s i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. So, we must try to make a difference by recycling the reusable things

Games are all about sportsman spirit and not about winning or losing. They give many opportunities to the students to face the real life situations and handle them patiently. To keep the same spirit alive in the students, an intra-mural Football competition was organised in the school for MYP students on November 13, 2018, Friday. The competition was organised   in two categories – junior and senior. In junior category, Mandela house emerged as the winner and in senior category, Gandhi house won the match. In conclusion, the match was a perfect presentation of sportsmanship and enthusiasm and also taught the students to be balanced and calm.
